Generally a rainy day refers to such a day on which it rains continuously or intermittently. On such a day the sky remains overcast with clouds. It brings a gloomy picture. The sun remains hidden behind the clouds and it rains, drizzles and sometimes lashes the earth with gusty wind. Water stands here and there on the roads and they become muddy and slippery. Without an umbrella none can go out. Passers by are often seen on such way walking with umbrellas over their heads, shoes in had sans clothes folded up. On such a day , the boys and girls enjoy by wading through the water logged roads and by playing a lot of games with the splashing of water. It is a day of great suffering to the poor and the day labourers. They have to work in the rain. They cannot go out to find out work and cannot earn on a rainy day. Consequently they suffer much. Some person very enjoy the rainy day. Over they cannot enjoy the drip drop  sound of the rainfall. But the rainy day is enjoyable to the school going students. The schools are announced closed before the usual time and the students come back home playing with water on the roads. The rich cook a special dish "polaw"  and enjoy on such a day. A rainy day has also bad sides. Transport fares and the price of necessary things all on a sudden go up. The cattle also suffer much on the rainy day becomes a relief to everyone.
